Definition

Key-Shaped Talent describes individuals who possess a wide AI-enabled base of operational capability (the flat bottom of the key) combined with multiple domains of deep, human-irreplaceable expertise (the teeth of the key). The model supersedes T-shaped talent for environments where AI handles broad generalist work, and human value concentrates in depth, judgment, and cross-domain synthesis.

Why T-Shaped Is Insufficient

The T-shaped model (broad generalist knowledge + one deep specialisation) assumed that human breadth was the primary mechanism for cross-functional collaboration.
